In 2022, Elliot Smith founded Big Darby Forestry Consulting LLC. Later that year, he expanded the business to include arboriculture, that is Big Darby Tree Services LLC. Elliot loves all things trees. As a Certified Arborist, Elliot assists homeowners in preserving their trees that provide shade, beauty, and value. As a forester, Elliot helps private landowners with their woodland management.

Elliot finds great value in community and is highly involved in the forestry profession. Elliot sits on the Ohio Society of American Foresters Executive Committee as the chair elect. He is also on the Ohio Tree Farm Committee.

Other things Elliot is involved with include wildland fire fighting. He has served on the Ohio Interagency Fire Crew. Elliot has also fought wildfire here in Ohio and performed prescribed burning.

Elliot believes that credentialing is important when choosing who should work on your property. Elliot is an ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified, and one of the first SAF Certified Urban and Community Foresters in the county.
